Sharon likes to stay active by attending water aerobics class and walking in her neighborhood! She also enjoys “coffee and conversation” with her companions and having someone take her to Food Lion for groceries!
Sumana is a foodie and loves going to P.F. Chang’s for lunch and serving tea to her companions! She is an accomplished biologist and spends a lot of time reading - both in Bengali and English!
John is a proud U.S. Navy Veteran and loves shell collecting, taking naps and drinking lots of chocolate milkshakes.
John started off with companion care services at his daughter's home until his move to independent living. John has been thriving in his new home and continues to receive physical therapy services.
Annie loves grits, taking naps and enjoying the sunshine. She used to make lye soap and provide educational teaching sessions throughout the Eno River Valley. Annie is another physical therapy client, and her family is planning to use companion care as respite for when they go out of town.
Foy is a sweet Southern woman who loves “old timey popcorn”, reading and sitting outside. She is one of our physical therapy clients but also uses companion care for transportation to medical appointments since her family lives out of state.
Art is one of our companion care plus therapy clients. Physical therapy is performed 3x/week and his companions ensure that he is walking every day to keep up his strength and endurance. Art is one of our companion care plus therapy clients. Physical therapy is performed 3x/week and his companions ensure that he is walking every day to keep up his strength and endurance. Art is very appreciative of the extra attention and time that is given to improving his overall physical and mental health. Besides walking, Art enjoys sitting on the front porch of his assisted living birdwatching, listening to classical music or heading to the salon for a haircut/beard trim!
Nancy loves gardening, taking walks and watching Law & Order. She was previously a librarian and now she is a master gardener. Nancy uses companion care services for transportation to medical appointments, running errands and going on fun outings.
Margarete likes to bake and decorate cakes for her grandchildren and work on word search puzzles. She recently moved into an assisted living facility and therapy services were initiated to help with the transition.
Don loves music and is especially into songwriting from the 1940’s-1950’s. He also enjoys surfing the internet, eating açaí bowls and watching UNC athletics. Don uses our mobile physical therapy services and also had some grab bars installed to improve his safety and mobility within the home. His goal is to Age In Place alongside his wife, Teddyann.
Robert was referred to Active At Home for our physical therapy services to work on general strengthening and reducing risk of falls. Robert loves birdwatching and going to UNC basketball games. He used to show PBGV dogs (look them up, they are SO adorable) at Westminister and has placed in the top 3 numerous times.
Connie started using our therapy services to build strength and endurance after getting her hip replaced. She’s also doing “prehab” in preparation for the other hip replacement in a few months. Connie enjoys spending time with family, cooking and visiting local wineries.
Rich uses our services for cognitive supervision and companionship. He enjoys walking (5-7miles!) each morning, playing the piano, taking care of his goldfish pond, and keeping his yard well maintained. Not to mention he is a friend of everyone, pets included!
